This 3200 SF single-family residence and accompanying 800 SF pool house were envisioned as a refuge cradled within the foothills of the San Bernardino National Forest. The design uses a series of thickened walls which run east-west along the topography of the dramatic mountain site to establish discrete programmatic zones and protect the interiors from the sun.

This project is for modest yet highly detailed contemporary alterations and additions to an existing detached weatherboard Edwardian residence with a rear Western aspect in Camberwell, Victoria. As well as the proposed living area additions, the brief called for the upgrading of existing bath rooms, wardrobes, improved internal circulation, the provision of a swimming pool, and landscaped utility areas.

The owners for this 5,600-square-foot residence desired a “ fishing cabin ” in the West. They purchased property with an existing house on a beautiful 10-acre site in Jackson, Wyoming. The land offered privacy, views to the Teton Mountain Range, close proximity to a fishing creek and access to the wildlife habitat that the creek supports.
