At only 15 feet wide, this petite Manhattan townhouse expands beyond its envelope. A sophisticated palette of materials including white washed wood floors, tinted concrete, stainless steel, and white onyx provides a gallery-like setting for the client’s modern art collection.
As it is a weekend getaway, we strived for a relaxed interior that exudes stylish comfort. Textures such as suedes, linens and sheepskin were used to create a sense of calmness and to add to the overall feeling of informal relaxation.

Built in the late 70s, Long Island Retreat began as a 1,600-square-foot, three bedroom structure that had been in the family for many years. To preserve the original home, the structure of the existing house was converted into bedrooms and a game room for the children.
