The Penthouse has five bedrooms, three living spaces, two kitchens and four bathrooms. The living room, with a 6 meter high double height space is located in the south, facing the Qiantang River. The spiral staircase is in the southeast corner, and the three sky terraces are connected to the secondary bedrooms, western kitchen and multi-functional room.
Throughout the Belvedere penthouse, special attention has been paid to concealing mechanical services and creating a harmonious whole. Small recessed lighting fixtures form luminous rectangles on the ceiling, motorized curtains retreat into specially designed niches, kitchen cabinets are free of handles, and door frames fit flush with the walls.
In designing the Waterview Condominium, it was essential for the views to remain the primary visual experience from all the spaces, including the circulation axes. Ideally, ceiling height would be maximized especially along the ten feet high, floor to ceiling, uninterrupted glass curtain wall.
We designed this Cow Hollow penthouse with the purpose of “seeing rather than being seen.” As part of a larger remodel project, we designed a new, modern penthouse that sits discreetly above an existing 1930s Mediterranean-inspired structure.

A rearrangement of spaces and a playful embrace of existing high rise infrastructure, was necessary to accommodate a family of four in this high-rise urban condominium.
