AFL Build was appointed to undertake the refurbishment and extension of a Grade II listed Victorian house in Bow, known as the Bow House. This property was in a severe state of disrepair and required a comprehensive overhaul.
The rear extension is designed as a stone pavilion. Agglomerate stone forms a plinth upon which limestone piers rise, forming the structure of the extension. The natural stone was locally sourced and selected for its low embodied energy.
An Edwardian terrace in Muswell Hill was extended and refurbished to create a comfortable, low energy house. The original structure of the house was revealed, its modest beauty celebrated.
This house extension and refurbishment transforms a Victorian terraced property in a Highbury conservation area. The brief was to create open plan spaces with an improved relationship to the garden, and a kitchen that could be enjoyed as a social space.
This North London House project extends a maisonette that had previously been converted from an early Victorian house. A series of spaces are connected for improved daylight and views.
This house lies on a mid-century modern estate in Holland Park by celebrated architects Maxwell Fry and Jane Drew. Built in 1966, the estate features red brick terraces with integrated garages and generous communal gardens.
This listed crescent in Barnsbury, Islington, London was built in 1860. The project reconfigures a first floor flat within a building that was converted from a house in the 1970’s. This London flat was altered to provide an open plan kitchen in the living room, allowing the creation of an additional bedroom.
