Atelier Branco was founded by Matteo Arnone (Parma, IT) & Pep Pons (Barcelona, ES) in 2012, both architects from the Accademia Architettura Mendrisio (Switzerland).
The practice is an architecture atelier that develops projects of different scales and programs located around the globe.
In September 2019 Atelier Branco and the client João Carlos have been awarded with the Dedalo Minosse International Prize for Commissioning a Building – OCCAM Under 40 with the project Casa Biblioteca.
In october 2018 Atelier Branco has been awarded Medaglia d’Oro (Golden Medal) – Premio T Young Claudio De Albertis – by the Triennale di Milano with the project Casa Biblioteca.
Graduated in Master of Science in Architecture from the Accademia di Architettura Mendrisio at the Università della Svizzera Italiana (2011, Switzerland), post-graduation lato-sensu in Housing and City by the Escola da Cidade, São Paulo (2012, Brazil). Has experience as a teacher, was a project teacher at the Escola da Cidade, São Paulo (2015, Brazil) and project monitor at the same institution (2012 to 2014). Has experience in the area of Architecture and Urbanism, with emphasis on Architecture Project. He was a collaborator in Christian Kerez Architekt ETH / SIA office, in Zurich (CH), during 2011 to 2012; and at Aires Mateus e Associados atelier in Lisbon (PT), during 2009 and 2010.
Graduated in Master of Science in Architecture from the Accademia di Architettura Mendrisio at Università della Svizzera Italiana (2011, Switzerland). He was a visiting professor at IED, Institute of European Design, Milan (IT). Has experience in the area of Architecture and Urbanism. He was a collaborator at Reto Egloff Architect AAM / SIA office in Mulheim (CH); at KKAA office, Kengo Kuma Architect and Associates, in Tokyo (JP); and at SFV Statens Fastighetsverk office in Stockholm (SE). He is a member of the ‘Ordine dei Architetti di Parma’, number 1100.
