The Boréale villa is a charming Scandinavian inspiration residence located in Charlevoix, an eastern region of the Quebec Province well known for its wooded valleys, skiable mountains and breathtaking points of view. At the heart of the boreal forest, the Villa is set on a sloped and private site, matching up nicely with the ubiquitous vegetation of the surroundings.
CARGO Architecture was founded in Toronto in 2006 by Charles-Bernard Gagnon, under the initial name Charles-Bernard Gagnon Building Workshop Inc. "We believe that a contextual, functional and elegant architecture, in tune with social and economic issues, cultural and ecological heritages, contributes to the re-generation of our cities and towns in Canada and elsewhere in the world."
CARGO Architecture works with Canadian organizations such as the Canada Green Building Council (LEED Canada), Natural Resources Canada and FPInnovation to promote the use of lumber in commercial buildings.
The studio currently has offices in both Quebec, Canada and Salt Lake City, USA.
