Tasman View House is a low maintenance sleek home on the foothills of the Richmond Ranges. An extra thick insulated envelope of metal roofing and aluminium cladding wrap over elements of cedar shiplap and Fijian Kauri.
MODO Architects operates with the simple overriding desire to produce buildings of poetic beauty and place. We have a responsibility to create buildings that respond to and engage with people and landscape, both visually and sustainably. MODO Architects are skilled in a wide range of architectural design from residential, multi-unit residential, commercial, education, community, interior and landscape. MODO are based primarily in Auckland and Nelson, but can take on projects anywhere.
MODO Architects was established by Brendon Monk in 2014. Although very design focused, he has considerable hands on experience in the pragmatics of structure and construction. He has extensive experience in commercial, retail and education projects including complete new schools. Brendon has experience in alternative energy sources and energy efficiency is inherent in all his designs.
Living and working in Japan has strongly influenced his design philosophies and he has given N.Z.I.A. presentations on Japanese architecture, urban response and culture.
Brendon is a registered architect and member of the New Zealand Institute of Architects.
