The Austin Mid-Century Ranch is a creative collaboration between renowned Austin design firm Mark Ashby Design and Rick +Cindy Black Architects. Built in 1955, characterized by its low-slung roof, brick exterior and pitched ceilings, the house had not been renovated or maintained in its sixty years.
Rick +Cindy Black Architects
Rick and Cindy Black are residential architects with projects in Austin and the Hill country. Through the years the couple has established their reputation for thoughtful houses, ranging from backyard dwellings and inventive renovations to gracious family estates.
As partners in both our professional and personal lives, we bring a unique collaboration to each of our projects.
Our shared love of architecture motivates us to work together as a team, bringing two sets of eyes and a balance of perspectives. We believe that architecture is the measure of our culture; that good building requires a collective effort and reconnaissance with artisans, laborers, builders, and artists. We enjoy this level of engagement and aim to share this with our clients.
