Alan Tansey was born in a rural part of Ohio between the heights of the Appalachians and the plains of the Midwest. He studied Architecture at Kent State University as an undergraduate and participated in the College of Architecture’s international studies program in Florence, Italy. Continuing his education in New York, he fulfilled his Master’s degree at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation where he found himself intrigued by architectural photography. The mix of technical education, international study, conceptual design and photography have influenced much of Alan’s work today.
