About Matthew Millman
Matthew Millman has been photographing architecture and interior design for over 20 years. Drawing his earliest influences from the long history of landscape photographers native to California, he continues to view photography through a fine arts lens. Matthew’s work has appeared in a wide range of publications, including The New York Times, Dwell, Architectural Digest, Interior Design, Elle Decor, Luxe, and Architectural Record. Matthew has photographed books such as Art House, West Coast Modern, Collected Cool, and Inner Spaces. Matthew’s personal work focuses on various subjects from architectural abstractions to a 10 year project of portraiture and reportage in Haiti.

Light, simplicity and materiality were the guiding design elements for this modest 3,000 square foot Beverly Hills home. Respectful to a neighborhood mainly consisting of Spanish-styled homes from the 1940s, scale and mass were kept comparable.
Located in Calistoga, a small town in Northern California’s Napa Valley, this renovated wine country farmhouse is placed gently into a landscape of grape vines and matured walnut trees.
The Portola Valley Barn is a dynamic space, separate from an existing main residence, designed for large-scale entertaining as well as relaxation. Reminiscent of the tin-roofed, weathered rural vernacular of the picturesque surroundings, the compound comprises three primary structures connected by interstitial entryways containing a kitchen and powder room.
This Los Gatos modern home, which also involved extensive remodeling of the existing modern residence located high above Silicon Valley, was inspired by dominant images and textures from the site: boulders, bark, and leaves.
The Quintessa Pavilions  are the newest addition to the Quintessa Estate, a winery and residence designed by  Walker Warner Architects. The result is three, unique wine tasting pavilions that can be utilized year-round despite the weather.
San Anselmo Residence is a new 4,500sf modern house. After years of seeking the perfect site to build their retirement home, the couple settled on a knoll overlooking Mount Tamalpais.

Designed by Carney Logan Burke Architects for a young family with two children, Shooting Star House is a new residence with traditional architecture and contemporary interiors.
The Owners desired a new contemporary home in Jackson Hole. After an extensive search, they purchased a rustic log house near the ski resort with the intention of transforming and updating the cabin.
The site, a meadow dotted with magnificent oaks, gently slopes down to a spring fed pond creating an unusually lush landscape. The owners requested that the house be designed for outdoor/indoor summer living.
