The owners came to Dalecki Design with a cottage that was tired and run down. It was lacking all the mod cons and was becoming too small for the growing family. The brief was to extend this humble Mosman Park cottage to accommodate their need for more space
When the owners of this home came across a rundown home in City Beach, they were struck with the instant connection they had with not only with the space, but its history too. Sitting proud as part of the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games Village homes
The brief was to create a light, bright, and comfortable open plan home which was family friendly and great for entertaining whilst making the most of their 490sqm site.
Located on a granite outcrop of the scarp, this small project is a restrained piece of contemporary design, a steel and glass box house. This site (near Darlington on the Perth Darling Range), required careful consideration of the placement of the architectural solution within the natural environment.
This is a patina of what’s West Australian, with the planter boxes painted by West Australian artists and planted with West Australian native plants.
