The long-time owners of this humble turn-of-the-century logger’s home were ready for some major work to be done. They wanted the house to match their upbeat lifestyle and transform it into a bright, contemporary entertaining space.
The Phinney Ridge home is nestled into the footprint of the site’s previous house to utilize zoning guidelines that were grandfathered into this urban neighborhood in Seattle.
Tucked into a small city lot along the water’s edge, the Portage Bay house was designed to live like a studio loft for a bachelor who values privacy, a central location to reside in the city, and a convenient spot to park the float plane.
Located in Belltown, a downtown Seattle neighborhood, this studio is dedicated to the display of Lino Tagliapietra’s glass art. Tagliapietra’s work explores the limits of glass—its form, texture, and color.
