A Simple Terrace House is in the Windsor Park neighbourhood of Singapore and is composed of two pitched concrete forms containing the private bedrooms and attic terrace.
For the design of this 400-square-metre 5-room Bukit Panjang Apartment in Singapore, we proposed the use of the colour black as a thematic element given its toned down masculine and modern qualities.
“As such, the design creates an inward-looking house with an external screen, which not only controls the sun but also views in and out of the house,” explains Han Loke Kwang, HYLA Architect’s Founder
PROJECT #4 is a multi-generational tropical bungalow in an exclusive residential enclave, of 106 semi-detached houses and 3 bungalows, in Central Singapore.
Within a 1.5km radius, the Stark House is surrounded by other housing estates – both low and high rise, the Changi Prison Complex, Changi Airport, and several industrial and commercial areas.

For this 1,012 sq ft HDB apartment, the challenge was to introduce industrial elements while retaining a polished look. To express the raw, industrial interior design concept, the Moonstone Lane apartment sports a textured palette of copper, red brick walls, cast concrete and jet-black steel. An unconventional abode, this studio apartment is one that indeed satisfies the owner’s aspirations for a unique home.
A series of cascading courts between the house and the party wall forms the basis by which this semi-detached house is organized. From the outside one is scarcely able to see these courtyards due to the screening and deep shadows. The courtyards are covered with a glass roof and timber pergola, which makes them pretty much all weather spaces.
