Japandi Home Revival / Flight Architecture

Japandi Home Revival, Colorado / Flight Architecture

This home was inspired by “Kintsugi”, the Japanese art of filling cracks in old and worn pottery with gold. It is a remodel and addition project at the base of the Colorado Rockies. We transformed an old, cramped kitchen, living, and dining space into a seamless, modern main level.

Trevally House / Adam Knibb Architects

Trevally House, Hampshire / Adam Knibb Architects

Adam Knibb Architects took on the challenge of extending and refurbishing Trevally House, a beloved period dwelling. Their goal was to create a unique, contemporary addition without losing the home’s existing charm. To achieve this, they replaced an old conservatory with a modern ground floor extension that spans the entire width of the property.

Dry Creek Cabin, Washington / Fieldwork Design and Architecture

Dry Creek Cabin by Fieldwork Design and Architecture sits 2,200 feet above the Columbia River Gorge in White Salmon, Washington. The architects embedded the cabin into the hillside, allowing the roof to float above the landscape. Consequently, this design creates a quiet, almost invisible facade from the road, blending the cabin seamlessly with its natural surroundings.

House MD / Didonè Comacchio Architects

House MD / Didonè Comacchio Architects

House MD by Didonè Comacchio Architects stands gracefully on the outskirts of Bassano del Grappa, nestled at the entrance to the Valsugana and at the foot of the majestic Grappa massif. The architects skillfully placed the building partially embedded in the ground, allowing it to blend seamlessly with the sloping terrain.

Queen Anne House, Seattle / DeForest Architects

Queen Anne House by DeForest Architects beautifully merges Tudor Revival charm with contemporary design. The owner, an artist, envisioned a home where her family could create and appreciate art while reinterpreting historical elements. The house’s classic proportions, intricate woodwork, and vibrant stained glass provided the perfect foundation for her creative aspirations.

Monk House / FLOWER

Monk House, Boulder / FLOWER Architecture

The “before” images offer a measure of the proverbial hill we were tasked to climb. The landscape was overgrown, the exterior stained and worn. The entry door was at the lower level, in the building’s intersecting corner, behind shrubs and volunteers – unseeable upon entry.
