Refined spaces for a family with two little girls. Kigali House is a fluid apartment, without barriers between one environment and another, to allow the smallests to fully enjoy the space. It is the home of which Studio Strato designed the renovation on the top floor of a building in an elegant Roman area.
House Interior Design
The owners of this 1940s Brentwood ranch house (California), a former studio head and her partner, wanted a new screening room that they added with an extension. Additional modifications to the 4,000 square foot home included the additions of a flat roof, new glass-curtain walls and concrete floors.
“The unique site of the 2,200 square foot (204 square metres) Saint George Street house inspired us to get creative with our design process and visually create more space,” says Chad Falkenberg, principal of Falken Reynolds.
The project is located in a high-end residential community. In spite of the “high-end” positioning of the project, AD Architecture still endowed it with artistic features. Through feeling the beauty of pureness and quietness in space, the Studio created an elegant residence that purifies and eases people’s mind.
One unique feature that separates The Home in Little Italy from other Audax projects is the fact that it is the home of the firm’s principal, Gianpiero Pugliese. Married with two children, Gianpiero and his wife began to look for something different from the standard Toronto house when searching for a new home to meet their growing family’s needs.
The Mountain Lakes Residence also had an emotional aspect for Susan Knof, Founder and Creative Director of KNOF Design, as one half of the client couple is a long-time friend.
