Dank Architectes is an architectural office based in Lyon, founded in 2010 by Thibaut Chanut, Gilles Dietrich and Steven Guigoz.
The activity of the studio is divided today between the private order, mainly focused on the realization of individual houses (planning, renovation, extension, new construction) and the public order, in the form of partnerships with various architectural agencies and design offices on larger projects (school, tertiary …).

Sheltered behind dividing stone walls and dense pre-existing hedges, their “family” project was made possible in the intimate and calm environment to which they aspired.
The plans were designed for a couple with two children who wanted a loft conversion type with efficient use of space. The concept was to open up the ground floor by taking down the existing partitions wall and placing the bedrooms on the upper floor.
The owners of an atypical 3 story house contacted us with a strong intention to transform an existing small living room into a large contemporary and minimalist space. We worked on the re-organization of the living spaces, having in mind the view from the inside and the interior light. We also wanted the terrace to become an extension of the living room.
