Cosmic Saltillo: Breathing New Life into East Austin’s Industrial Heart

Cosmic Saltillo by Clayton Korte transforms two long‑abandoned early‑1900s warehouse buildings in East Austin into a vibrant, landscape-focused hospitality space. Once used by Texaco to store petroleum products delivered by rail, these industrial relics now house a thriving restaurant and bar—Cosmic Coffee & Beer—offering a unique blend of history, art, and sustainability.

The Perch Bungalow Addition, Austin / Nicole Blair

Annie and Dylan, a hairstylist and a landscape designer, needed a flexible space for work and guests without sacrificing their backyard or disrupting the mature landscape. To achieve this, The Perch Bungalow Addition was designed as a 660-square-foot elevated structure, fitting just above the existing bungalow while staying within the City of Austin’s setback limits.

Pascal House stands in front of breathtaking preserve lands near the Colorado River. However, when the homeowners first saw this traditional property in 2020, they quickly noticed several challenges. A bulky circular stair blocked the main entry, and the family room’s narrow openings failed to highlight the river views.
