This major renovation transforms a 1950s split-level house into a two-storey, all-electric, multi-generational home. And it was all designed without the need for an addition.
Hillclimb Residence is located approximately 30 minutes east of Banff in the mountain community of Canmore, overlooking the Bow River Valley and the Canadian Rocky Mountain range.
The reinvented space was designed around their family of four to accommodate formal and casual spaces that could open up to each other. Spaces for private work, and social gatherings sit side by side.
The In Between House is situated on a typical Vancouver lot within a post war neighbourhood with a mix of original 1950’s L plan modern bungalows, and post 1990’s infill houses.
The Break Residence, located on the shores of Lake Revdor in the Laurentians and designed by MU Architecture, showcases a harmonious blend of modern architecture with its natural surroundings. This home serves as a final retreat for its owner on ancestral land, creating a space that is deeply connected to its environment.
Charmed by the ever-so-popular typology of the A-frame cottage, the new owners of this 1950’s property aspired to renovate and revitalize the cottage into a 21st century home.
Situated behind a 1920’s heritage house, the Bowling Lane House preserves the character of the property while extending its livable space and adaptability.
