Can House, Turkey / PIN Architects

Can House sits in a quiet residential area in Mudanya, Bursa, on the site of an old family home. Throughout construction, the team took great care to preserve the surrounding trees and plants. The design seamlessly integrates these natural elements, making the landscape an essential part of the house.

Inspired by Louis Kahn’s studies of geometric forms and natural light, as well as his preference for simplicity and functionality, the house’s square plan and circular staircase achieve a geometric harmony. The result is a sophisticated and soulful living environment that honors the beauty of its lakeside setting.

Red Rock House, Las Vegas / Faulkner Architects

Red Rock House is a sculpture in dialogue with its surroundings—a tacit acknowledgment that the desert grants no free passes. Here, architecture and environment fuse into a kind of equilibrium: the mass of concrete and steel, the careful harnessing of wind and sun, the silent acknowledgment of a harsh yet magnificent landscape.
