The Meadows House blends contemporary design with the historic vernacular architecture of Litchfield County. Positioned on a sloping site, the home offers sweeping views of the rolling hills and is surrounded by native meadows that extend to the treeline. The structure references traditional barn forms but introduces modern elements through sharp lines and expansive windows.
In the lush backcountry of Greenwich, Connecticut, Greenwich House balances privacy and openness with understated elegance. Designed by Murdock Solon Architects, this home sits on 5.9 acres of wooded terrain bordered by wetlands, creating a natural sanctuary.
The Hill House by Joeb Moore & Partners, located in Litchfield County, takes full advantage of its naturally terraced site. Shielded from the country drive by a grove of mature trees, the house nestles into the landscape between a ledge outcropping, a historic hickory grove, and a sloping meadow, allowing for panoramic views across both woodland and meadow.
The Roxbury House marries art and landscape in intimate and broad moments. The house is positioned uphill and on the edge of the 12-acre property to strategically take advantage of prevailing winds for natural ventilation and to minimize site disturbance
The ZN Prototype House was designed as a kit of parts that could easily be erected on any site. We developed this concept after receiving a lot of interest in our design for the LM Guest House (completed in 2012).
The Ledge House clients asked us to design a new home that would resonate with the history of the Connecticut Valley, include a material palette that is environmentally friendly, and works with the challenging site on a large rock ledge.
