This project was for a young couple relocating back to Santa Rosa from New York. They sought to update a mid-century ranch home they purchased in the hills of Santa Rosa – with a distinct vision.

This modern home addition links to the existing residence via a protected deck which becomes an outdoor living space in summer, with retracting glazed doors. The kitchen and living, and bedroom wings are separated by a dining area that steps down to a patio that is naturally shaded by an existing camellia tree.
Cloud house is a private home located at Bondi Beach. The concept was to maximise the opportunity for light to interact with the surfaces of the house, like the facets of a cloud. The Cloud house is open towards the East of the site to benefit from the morning sun, while the internal courtyard allows sun throughout the day to flood the double height living area.
The future house was imagined by both client and architect to be a continuation of the long history of people living in a house on the site, and that the new Avonlea house would stand the test of time both architecturally and quality of workmanship.
Built on a hillside, this Brutalist-style house intentionally elevates the living space to provide privacy while offering a comfortable outdoor activity space for families. An undulating wall running through the building defines the exterior and interior, separating the public space from the private.
Sorrel House is a project that explores the juxtaposition between historical context and contemporary architecture within a broader subtropical paradigm. Beyond the initial stark contrast that presents between the new and old, a more subtle debate about edges, openings and thresholds is being had.
Located on a one acre site in Westhampton, this residential project works with the subtle interplay between two distinct architectural agendas. On one hand, the entry massing adheres to the clients interest in the aesthetic of mid-century modern homes in which conceptual clarity comes from orthogonal alignments.
This house, placed at Itamambuca beach, has its starting point on the context and the program. Close to the seashore and surrounded by a dense and rich rainforest vegetation, the site pointed towards a simple conceptual insight.
