The rebuilding of a detached house in Kiekrz was aimed to connect separated rooms into one multifunctional open space. All of the rooms located on the ground floor were parted by too many walls and in result they were quite dark and nonfunctional.
Though her work in real estate had brought her to countless bay area homes, our client knew something was different when she toured this 1920s fixer-upper in San Francisco’s Sea Cliff neighborhood.
Inspired by local farm buildings, the exterior at ground floor level is entirely masonry (knapped flint with steel corners) while the exterior at first floor level is clad in black timber. The ground floor of the Oak Lane house is separated into wings which define external spaces around the building.
