Located on Esmoriz, this project is a contemporary reinterpretation of the fishermen’s house called “Palheiro”, wich emerged in the early 19th century as a response to the need the inhabit the beach.
The aim of the project was to enhance the architectural, historical and landscape heritage existing in this small mountain region in the Portuguese countryside, named Cova da Beira, in the town of Belmonte.
The TM House is a T4 typology house, located in the parish of Lamelas – a predominantly rustic area – located on the south side of Santo Tirso. The house seeks a deliberate connection between all its spaces, with respect to the functional relationship of interior and exterior areas and experiences.
The genesis of the proposal configures a simple volume characterized by a rectangular parallelepiped that was deformed in order to embrace the area of land oriented south and that composes the patio.
The Comporta 107 House is composed of 2 pure volumes with great transparency, around which you can appreciate the complexity of the nature that surrounds them.
