Glade House, Modern Home with Raking Ceilings and Exposed Rafters

The Glade House project is a renovation of a late 1950’s residential dwelling in a bush glade setting in suburban Remuera. The house is modernist in style, typical of the period with low-pitched gabled roof, raking ceilings and exposed rafters. Fundamental to the re-design was the notion of providing “graduated connections” to the surrounding glade, physical and visual.

Bunny Run Residence / Alterstudio Architecture

Located in Austin, Texas, the Bunny Run Residence is a stunning two-story home that takes full advantage of its picturesque surroundings. The house is strategically positioned to highlight the unexpected greenbelt and the lovely views at the back of the property. Mill Valley Courtyard House / Aidlin Darling Design

San Francisco-based Aidlin Darling Design recently completed Mill Valley Courtyard House. The site for this residence is a typical suburban lot not unlike any other in Northern California. The intention of this residence was to create a sanctuary for a writer, his wife and two college-age sons.

Islesboro Residence, Maine / Andrew Berman Architect

These buildings, a house, boathouse, and studio structure, are located on a rocky outcrop with long views southwest down Penobscot Bay. It is a spectacular site with varied topography, flora, and views. The structures were designed to carefully stitch into the landscape.

Cedar Lodge: Contemporary Timber & Zinc Clad Houses

The brief was to replace an existing garage with a pair of semi-detached contemporary timber & zinc clad houses in Winchester, Hampshire which would accommodate 2 bedrooms, bathroom and living accommodation. The proposal provides parking whilst making use of the south facing aspect for amenity spaces.

Projected by Isola Homes in Seattle, this three bedroom house is categorized as having 4 Star Built Green. When the building was made there were used especial products preferable to the environment, which do not generate waste and can be recycled. Also high energy efficiency has been taken into account.
