Studio Pacific Architecture

Studio Pacific Architecture is a Wellington-based, multidisciplinary design studio founded in 1992 by Nicholas Barratt-Boyes, Stephen McDougall, and Evžen Novák. Drawing on their international education and experience, the firm has grown into a collaborative practice of around 100 professionals, including architects, urban designers, interior designers, and landscape architects. Their work places emphasis on sustainable, people-centered design that addresses the needs of diverse communities across Aotearoa New Zealand.

The studio’s portfolio spans cultural, residential, commercial, civic, urban design, and landscape projects—many of which illustrate their commitment to creative context and environmental responsibility. Noteworthy works include the sculptural Tākina – Wellington Convention & Exhibition Centre, the emotive Wellington International Airport Terminal (“The Rock”), Te Manawataki o Te Papa Library & Community Hub, and the innovative Auckland Surf Park. Each project exemplifies Studio Pacific’s ability to integrate design excellence with public impact and resilience.
