As an urban infill project in Austin, TX, Mark Odom Studio explored the formal arrangement of the duplex typology while being sensitive to the residents’ physical and visual privacy. Given the limited allowable square footage per unit, the studio’s goal was to design each space as efficiently as possible and for multiple functions.
The Collector’s House, designed by Austin-based A Parallel Architecture, is a contemporary residence located in Sunset Valley, Texas. Spanning 3,500 square feet (325 square meters), this home merges art and architecture in a carefully designed setting that reflects both the homeowner’s love of art and their connection to nature.
Perched on one of the highest points at the edge of Austin, Barton Hills House by A Parallel Architecture offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city and nearby mountains. Spanning 2,800 square feet, this modern residence utilizes the sloping terrain to enhance both functionality and design, integrating seamlessly with the natural landscape.
