Voluar Arquitectura
Pablo Rodríguez Mesa is an architect who graduated from the Technical School of Architecture of Madrid. He has operated his own professional studio since 1990.
Borja Lomas Rodríguez is an architect who also graduated from the Technical School of Architecture of Madrid. He holds a Master’s degree in Advanced Architectural Projects and a PhD in Architecture, with the thesis “Antifragile Architectures: Tactical Layers of Productive Entropy,” for which he received the distinction of Summa Cum Laude.
In 2006, they founded the studio Voluar Arquitectura, where they create projects that focus on providing adaptable architectural solutions rooted in specific contexts, harmonizing with the environment and landscape, and effectively meeting the required program. Their projects explore the balance between the permanence demanded by architecture and the unpredictability of human actions. Among their main works are the Community Building for the Fuencarral-El Pardo Police Station in Madrid, 368 public housing units in Getafe, and the rehabilitation of the building on Santa María Street 8 in Málaga. They are currently developing the project for the future headquarters of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and the Lafuente Archive in the former headquarters of the Bank of Spain in Santander.

The House That Splits by Voluar Arquitectura, also known as The House of Forking Paths, embodies a rich exploration of time, space, and nature-inspired adaptability. Influenced by Jorge Luis Borges, the residence unfolds with each movement, challenging the idea of space as static.
