Two minimalist-shaped villas designed for short-term rent partially levitate above the edge of a steep hill of the overgrown jungle and bring endless views of the Pacific Ocean. Both villas were designed with respect to sustainability and the surrounding wild environment.
The Waiheke Residence was intended to support a version of life that rejected the digitalised and left the hum of the city behind. It needed to deliver a slower rhythm and tune in with the environment.
The Tarrytown House injects a tone of modernity into an otherwise traditional, post-war neighborhood, and defines a private landscape as the center of this family home. Caught between a walled garden along the street and a central courtyard behind, the interior opens resolutely to the out-of-doors under a ubiquitous ceiling plane and is minimally contained by custom site-glazed window walls.
The Forte house is designed in a complex balance between the creation of a dense and closed fortress and the reinterpretation of the typical patio house, looking for a protected oasis, in its intimate relationship with the sky.
The Lake Retreat House is located in the south of Chile, on Ranco Lake, 950 km from the metropolitan region. Situated on the shores of the lake, with hot temperatures in summer but also rain and humidity in winter with temperatures that can drop to 4°C.
