Yaroslav Galant is the founder and main designer of “Yaroslav Galant innovative design” company. His collection of burnt furniture “Born 2B Burn” and the burning technology are unique and have been patented in Ukraine.

The Pier Glass, is a piece of furniture from the collection Born 2B Burn, that combines the elegant style with a shocking effect, it is manufactured by using the wood burning technology. This furniture is very versatile and can be adapted to different design concepts from classical style to modern and eclectic styles. How it is made? The wood of the furniture is carbonized at a temperature of approximately 2000 F. The short time of burning  the  wood makes the surface charring and it obtains the color, texture and the specific appearance of burnt, while inside the timber remains intact.

After the burnt wood cools down, it is impregnated with a special substance named epioftonol. This stabilizes and strengthens the burned wood while the color and texture are dependent of the substance concentration. Epioftonol is a substance invented and patented by designer Yaroslav Galant. The crystallization process of the substance on the wood lasts from a week to a month. In the end the furniture is varnished. What do you think about this technique?
