ÁBATON was founded in 1998 by Camino Alonso, Ignacio Lechón and Carlos Alonso. From the beginning they aimed for the projects to express the facts that defined the Studio. To achieve it they started up the Construction Company in order to control the whole building process as well as the final result. ÁBATON projects’ impact determined the high turnout of clients searching for a place that expressed the same language of light, sustainability and space that ÁBATON applies to all its projects. Currently, ÁBATON is developing more efficient work processes to confront bigger challenges that have to do with the international growth of the Studio.

The Cabin in La Vera by ÁBATON revitalizes an abandoned holiday home into a sanctuary where traditional architecture meets modern living. Moreover, this integral rehabilitation honors the original structure—its volumetry, materials, and spirit—while weaving in contemporary comforts and sustainable strategies.
The AS House by ÁBATON redefines family living in Madrid through a 700 m² cross-laminated timber structure that responds directly to its steep 3,000 m² plot. Moreover, ÁBATON handled every aspect—architecture, interiors, furnishings, and landscaping—to deliver a cohesive residence where each element reinforces the others.
Nearly three decades after ÁBATON’s first forays into architecture and interior remodeling in Madrid, this house marks the 300th integral renovation for the firm. Situated in the lush forest of Mount Abantos, it gazes upon the majestic Escorial Monastery. Moreover, it underscores ÁBATON’s dedication to empathetic and environmentally responsible design.
The Golf Architecture Project owes its name to the serene views of a golf course it boasts. This feature, alongside the preexistence of trees on the site before construction, served as a starting point for the project, as well as a clear objective: to respect the vegetation in the layout of the house and use its potential to frame the positioning of the new residence
The renovation, carried out in a beautiful building from the early 1930s, covers 140 square meters and has ceilings over 3 meters high throughout most of the home.
This 700 square meters isolated single-family house, with a CLT wood structure, was designed for a family with small children who trusted Ábaton for the project. In this case, the studio developed the interior design and landscaping projects, as well as took care of the architecture and construction.
This Mediterranean Retreat House is about 450 square meters, it is located in the island of Menorca and it has three floors to suit the steep topography of the land and to promote the joy of the wonderful views from most of the spaces of the house.
The 1960s House renovation by Ábaton Arquitectos is a thoughtful transformation of a classic residence into a warm, contemporary home that feels as if it has always been there. The clients, initially wanting to build a new Ábaton house, soon realized their desire for a homely ambiance would be best achieved by refurbishing an existing property with an established layout and garden.
