Masná 130 is a 500+-year-old house situated in the centre of Český Krumlov, a small town in Bohemia, Central Europe, and a popular UNESCO heritage site.
The reconstruction deals with a 125 m2 apartment located in a functionalist house by Eugen Rosenberg made of a reinforced concrete skeleton near Strossmayer Square in Prague.
To deal with the form of a residential building in the middle of a small village, not a city, was an interesting challenge for us. The existing non-functional production area was also losing its sense in this location in terms of urban planning
The new layout of the house allows its owners different levels of intimacy. The ground floor is very open and invites the family to spend time together.

In recent years, the village of Kamenice has experienced an influx of residents and the associated construction boom. The original village is being urbanized and urban-type architecture is emerging, especially in the center of the village.
The apartment, located near Karlovy Vary’s picturesque colonnades and Hotel Thermal which houses the world-known International Film Festival, underwent a complete reconstruction.
