The Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia has a long history of quirky independence, re-settled by artists and creative professionals in the last two decades.
This residence explores the relationship between new and existing architecture in Philadelphia’s historic Rittenhouse neighborhood. The central, vertical window delineates the front of the Rittenhouse house into two halves, referencing the double nature of the site’s past.
Located in a developing edge neighborhood of Philadelphia, Outside-In House presents a modest facade to the street while concentrating value on the interior.
Tiny Tower Residence places a 1250 SF home on a 12’ by 29’ lot, whose similarly scaled neighbors are currently used as single-car parking and rear yards for the adjacent houses.
Pickle Factory Loft is a project designed by the architecture and design studio Bright Common. The studio is based in Philadelphia and was founded by architect Jeremy Avellino.
