Taylor and Hinds
Taylor and Hinds is a Tasmanian-based architecture practice founded in 2013 by Poppy Taylor and Mat Hinds. Known for creating liveable, functional, and memorable environments, the studio delivers experience-driven, client-focused architecture across a range of project types—from tourism and heritage to residential and master planning. Every commission is met with a careful, site-specific response, grounded in design rigour and technical clarity. Their work is underpinned by a commitment to high-quality outcomes that engage with both context and people.
With over 15 years of industry experience, Poppy Taylor brings a sharp sensibility and deep understanding of spatial communication to the practice. Mat Hinds contributes a nuanced and technically astute approach to design, refined through years of practice and academic involvement. Together with team member Ken Beheim-Schwarzbach, a Berlin-trained graduate architect with international experience, Taylor and Hinds offers comprehensive architectural services—from feasibility through construction—defined by thoughtful detailing, spatial integrity, and a strong sense of place.
