Tucked away on a steeply sloping site, the Sodon Lake House takes its name from the Dichotheric lake which it overlooks — one of three known natural lakes of this type in Michigan.
The Wang House is located in the Ocean Park neighborhood, one block from busy Lincoln Blvd but half a mile from the calm of the Pacific Ocean. It lays on an exceptionally elongated corner lot: 80 feet long and only 25 feet wide.
The Lake Barcroft house departs from the “sea of sameness”, incorporating a large glass entry space and modern and durable exterior materials.
Rising on metal legs above a forested hill, the five-bedroom Peek-a-Boo Cabin faces a lake. A series of transitional spaces—exterior stairs, a deck, and an open breezeway—carve into and project out from the clean horizontal form
The Elevated Camp House is a four-season lakeside retreat for a family of five and is comprised of a 2,733 s.f. residence and a 382 s.f. guest cabin, linked via an elevated boardwalk.
The O Street townhouses reflect our most sincere interests in the studio with regards to urban revitalization. Encompassing an entire block of O Street between 25th and 26th Streets, these townhouses were originally built in 1874.
Located in Prairie Village, Kansas, the Homestead Residence anchors a corner lot and provides a reinterpreted homage to the Mid-Century Modern archetype that once occupied this lot.
Designed for an avid polo player and his family, Millbrook Residence is a summer estate where the owner has built his own private polo field with accompanying horse barns and staff quarters for the property manager and seasonal horse groomers & polo field caretakers.
This project was driven almost exclusively by the goal to orient each of the living spaces toward views of Flathead Lake. The dynamic site is both deep and steep with three tiers of land that transition from the road down to the lake.
Tucked into the Catskills woods, the Olive Passive House is a monolith with voids articulately chosen to optimize views, light, and privacy. The South-facing elevation is carved at an angle towards the East, framing the view of the pond while reducing the solar heat gain in the summer months.
The Ocean Cliffside Residence was a challenging and rewarding build that ultimately resulted in checking all the boxes for the owner, design team and ourselves.
