Transformation for the Digital Age
In 2022, Creditel, a leading Uruguayan lending company and part of the Santander Group, embarked on a transformative journey. This evolution impacted their business model, operations, and culture, incorporating a significant digital shift. To reflect these changes, the company needed a workplace embodying flexibility, technology, adaptability, and agility.
The Design Vision
To achieve this, Contract Workplaces proposed transforming Creditel’s Montevideo headquarters into a hub of collaboration, efficiency, creativity, and freedom of initiative. This design aimed to foster staff engagement and a strong sense of belonging. The project spanned an area of 9,260 square feet across three floors of a new office building on Ricaldoni Avenue in Parque Batlle.
Neighborhood Concept
Importantly, the design was guided by the principle of dividing the total area into four “neighborhoods,” each inspired by the cultural and geographical characteristics of Uruguay’s four quadrants. This layout followed an activity-based model, providing multiple options and arrangements to support various tasks, rather than confining employees to a single environment tied to a desk. This approach promotes innovation and seamless collaboration. Additionally, connectivity plays a crucial role in enabling free circulation and hybrid working arrangements.
Engaging External Spaces
Previously unused external spaces were revitalized with new furniture and shading systems, allowing employees to socialize and work in direct contact with nature. This connection to the outdoors enhances the overall work environment, contributing to employee well-being and productivity.
Aesthetic Choices
Furthermore, Contract Workplaces chose a color palette dominated by primary colors—red, blue, and yellow. These shades complement the finishes, ceilings, and carpet. Geometric graphics were added to inject liveliness and character into the space, creating a vibrant and engaging work environment.
Conclusion
Ultimately, the result of this project is an ecosystem of flexible, modern spaces with strong local roots. It offers users a sense of identity and empowers their activities. This transformation aligns with Creditel’s dynamic and evolving business needs. The new Creditel Office Uruguay stands as a testament to the company’s forward-thinking approach and commitment to fostering a collaborative and innovative workplace.
