You will have to go through a several-step process to achieve your goal. That being said, you have nothing to worry about as we will cover everything you need to know about becoming a Florida real estate agent. Additionally, we are going to cover how much real estate agents make in the state of Florida. Now, without further ado, let us begin, and if you are interested we recommend that you read on.

Becoming Real Estate Agent in Florida

To become a real estate agent in Florida, you will have to take several steps. First and foremost, you will have to take on a pre-license course for real estate agents. This means that you will have to complete 63 hours of online or classroom education that has been approved by the state. Additionally, in the state of Florida, with a state-approved school, you can complete all of the required real estate courses online from the comfort of your home. However, it is important to keep in mind that the certification that the course provides is only valid for two years starting from the date you have completed the course.

Next step that awaits you are your fingerprints. Now you will have to go and have your fingerprints taken. The state of Florida has a required criminal background check before they are able to provide you with a real estate license. You have nothing to worry about for this step as you can have your digital fingerprints taken in many different authorized locations across the entirety of the US. Keep in mind that if you have a criminal history, your application will, unfortunately, be reviewed on its own merit with the goal of determining if you will be eligible to receive the license based on good moral character requirements.

Next up is the step of submitting your application. To submit an application, you must be at least 18 years of age or older to proceed. Additionally, you need to have your social security number and have a high school diploma or anything on the same level that can substitute it. Furthermore, you do not have to be a resident of the state of Florida in order to apply for the real estate license and receive it.

Scheduling the Exam

Now that you have completed every step so far, the time has come for you to take the exam. After you submit your application, you will have to wait for the approval confirmation. Upon receiving the approval confirmation, you will also receive a candidate ID number through email. With this, you will be able to schedule the state exam. When it comes to the state of Florida, the exam can be taken daily. This can be done so either at Pearson Vue test centers that are widely spread across the United States or from the comfort of your home through the convenience of online tests.
When it comes to the test itself, you have three and a half hours to complete it. The test will consist of standard one hundred multiple-choice questions, you will have to answer a, b, c, or d.

To pass the exam, you will need to have a score of at least 75% or higher. If you fail the test on your first try, do not worry at all, as in the state of Florida you can retake the exam as many times as you need. The only thing you will have to wait for is to reschedule your exam which is going to take 24 hours. If you still require more information about the examination and the process of real estate license acquiring you can always check the candidate information booklet.

After you pass the Exam

Congratulations, you have passed the exam and have become a real estate agent. First and foremost, you need to activate your license so you can begin your successful career as a real estate agent. Remember that you can only operate with one employing broker at a given time. You can activate your license through the broker or if you prefer otherwise you can do so by submitting the DBPR-RE 11 form.

Now that you are ready to begin your career as a real estate agent you have so many options. First of all, you have to pick a niche in which you can do your best and make the most sales. Additionally, you always have the option to become a realtor. This way you can become a member of the National Association of Realtors, or NAR for short. By joining NAR you will have so many benefits that will help you develop your career even further.
