To achieve the geometric complexity of its dynamic, white curtain wall, the design team created a modular façade system that repeats every 11 floors. The engineering process, adapted from the aerospace industry, produced exceptionally flat and clean Italian-made white panels. This curtain wall forms part of a distinctive, spiraling design that transforms San Francisco’s skyline. Large bay windows twist up the façade, offering residents sweeping views of the San Francisco Bay, the Bay Bridge, and the city. As Jeanne Gang, founding principal of Studio Gang, explains, “Reinterpreting the classic bay windows of San Francisco, our design amplifies the dynamic quality of the neighborhood. Spiraling all the way up this 400-foot tower, bay windows create unique spaces in every residence that offer fresh air, expansive views, and changing qualities of light throughout the day.”
