Completed in 1969, the John Hancock building is considered a structural engineering masterpiece. Its soaring, monumental presence in the Chicago skyline has since become synonymous with the city and is arguably the most recognizable residential high-rise building in the world.
Carpenter’s Square House is an exercise in Prospect and Refuge: finding opportunities in a harsh context. The plan of the L-shaped addition ‘hugs’ the existing house, like a traditional carpenter’s square.
The owners chose Studio Dulu to plan and design their newly purchased Tel-Aviv triplex apartment, located on the 12th floor of an old 13-story building.

With a planned orchard and a quiet landscape setting the Doe Road house was designed with expansive deck areas and extended roof eaves to provide shading for the indoor/outdoor design.
