Volare is a new Italian trattoria in Amsterdam West. In the weekends the front space turns into a bar called Bomboloni’s. Coming from a compact Lower East Side walk up apt with a third child on the way, OAD Interiors wanted to be sure this home felt spacious and would be a house the family could grow in.
The Lantern Residence sits on the perfect balance between being nestled into the hillside and rising above it. Designed as two levels for a local entrepreneur and family, the very linear “L” shape is able to spread the main spaces of the house out more evenly across the site in the direction of the topography.
This multi-award winning house has been inspired by the Scottish blackhouse, but abstracted in to modern architecture.
