Built on a steep slope lot in Seattle with sweeping views of Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountains, the project presented a number of challenges, both technical and permit-related. As a designated Environmentally Critical Area (ECA) Steep Slope, the lot is subject to a far more rigorous standard of review than an ordinary flat lot.
This project is a light flooded second storey extension to a Californian bungalow in Northcote, Melbourne. This minimised work to the ground floor and allowed the owners to remain in occupation for a large part of the build reducing total project costs.
Small yet extremely functional, this minimal Paris apartment is an inspiring design gem. Situated in Paris 10th arrondissement it has a small kitchenette, a shower, a pull-out sofa bed and a wardrobe.
Built on the slope of Mount Shefford, the residence bridges an aerial view on one side and an ascending, rugged topography, populated by rocks and maples, on the other. The initial idea for this project was to merge with the mountain, to nestle into the terrain until it becomes one with the residence.
