About Jim Stephenson Photography
Jim Stephenson is an architectural photographer and film maker with a specific focus on documenting people in the built environment and how they interact with buildings. Trained as an architectural technologist, on graduation Jim worked in the industry for almost ten years on both sides of the Atlantic. His background allows him to converse meaningfully with his clients; he understands the architect’s intent and confidently conveys this in his photography. Working with film-maker Edward Bishop, he also produces short films of architectural projects for clients and publications. Jim is also approved by the Civil Aviation Authority to legally pilot a drone for commercial purposes, holding an up to date PfCO. He has been commissioned to photograph and produces films on projects by a wide range of architects and designers, including BIG; Herzog & de Meuron; Assemble; Zaha Hadid Architects; dRMM; Studio in the Woods / Invisible Studio; AHMM; Wilkinson Eyre; Foster & Partners; Rogers, Stirk Harbour and Partners; John Pardey Architects; Rural Studio; PUP Architects; MVRDV; Sou Fujimoto Architects; 6a; Studio Weave and many others.

This house extension and refurbishment transforms a Victorian terraced property in a Highbury conservation area. The brief was to create open plan spaces with an improved relationship to the garden, and a kitchen that could be enjoyed as a social space.
