Sustainable Apartment in Amsterdam by Firm Architects
A sustainable apartment. Unique and made to measure. Firm architects designed and realized a conceptual living environment from scratch.
Studio de Nooyer works internationally on assignments for interior and architectural photography. The client base consists of architects, interior designers, city planners, property developers, publishers, advertising agencies and many more companies related to the building industry.
Most projects are photographed on the spot, the ‘outside studio’. There is also the possibility to shoot products, 3D architectural models and furniture setups in a controlled studio setup.
The company was founded by Chiel de Nooyer and nowadays consists of two experienced photographers. They enhance one another by each providing their own unique skillset and background. Their teamwork allows them to simultaneously photograph one project or work separately, always providing feedback and critique of the others work.
Besides the photographers team, they work with a flexible group of people always on standby, providing greater flexibility with big amounts of assignments.
Before shooting a project, Studio de Nooyer prefers a walkthrough on location with the client. This way they can reveal important information about their objectives and ideas for the project.
This approach results in images that resonate attention to detail and fully translates the vision of a design.
The equipment used for taking photographs always provides high resolution output, allowing the client endless flexibility to use the material in various ways. Either small pictures on a website or life-size panoramas; it’s all possible.

For a private investor, Firm converted a 215 square meter part of this 120-year-old Warehouse on one of the busiest harbours in the Port of Rotterdam. The poorly lit space combined with a north-facing facade with just a few windows meant the owner needed to be visionary in order to perceive a bright and well usable office space.
