Pavilion House was commissioned by a single client seeking an age-in-place home in Asheville, NC. Situated on a triangular parcel—half meadow, half forest—the site was once part of a larger farm characterized by open pastures, scattered mature oaks, and dense woodlands.
The Mountain Peak House in Asheville, North Carolina, represents a significant renovation by KUBE Architecture, designed as a retirement home for the firm’s Salt + Pepper House clients. Nestled at a high elevation with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, the house is part of Asheville’s artistic community, renowned for its natural beauty.
Building in the mountains requires a careful design response to our dynamic land. The Cliffside House has amazing mountain views, however, a rock slide occurred after our clients purchased the property. Rather than sell the lot at a potential loss and start their dreams over, our clients asked us to create a design that was safe and beautiful.
The Nova residence is approximately 3300 sf and is built from cast in place concrete, steel, glass, stone and natural wood siding. The narrow wooded site is about 5 acres and has a steep cross slope from the north east corner to the south west corner.
