The House on Lake Arthur is a comfortable, warm, and welcoming space immersed in nature, because “Sometimes, Nature is all you need”.
Designed and motivated by the region’s industrial, yet poetic heritage, the Des Forges Residence is sculpted and moulded to carefully reflect and respect the topographic slopes, the views, the vegetation, and the meandering curves of the river.
By blending the core Danish design principles of simplicity, functionality, and restraint, with touches of Ontario rural vernacular, this project is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Danish Sommerhus that is rooted in both its local context and the clients’ family history.
Tucked away behind the trees, the Chester house features a cedar platform that serves as a porch and or an outdoor room with no walls – an unusual, yet seemingly conventional element that establishes a domestic space within the landscape.

The CAPO House, located near Baie Saint-Paul, in the Charlevoix region of Quebec, proposes an architectural approach that privileges the body’s movements in space. The residence roots itself in the site’s specific quality: a rocky cliff, perilous and at the limits of habitability.
The client owned property in the rolling hills of Caledon Ontario and wanted views to be framed over the countryside – allowing particular points of view and rejecting others with less-than- spectacular previously built features.
Situated on a steep waterfront lot flanked by suburban context, the Four & Four House knits together the client’s affinity for mid-century, post-and-beam construction with contemporary adaptations.
