The Villa Myrtille is a beautiful example of a functional design. The simple lines and unadorned surfaces give it a clean, modern look that is perfect for the luxury neighborhood it is located in.
The project is situated on land grant farm that has been a family home since the early 1960’s. 68 of the 78 acres is tillable and used for row crops.
Playing on combinations of solid volumes complemented by transparent voids, the Scenic View House uses a very simple material palette of brick, wood, and steel to stand apart from the landscape without drawing attention to itself.
The exterior’s spare composition of simple geometric forms reflects the efficient and rigorous planning of spaces contained within.
