Casa Hualle is a 230m2 family home located in the southern Araucania region of Chile, approximately 900 km south of the capital Santiago. The area is renowned for its beautiful open countryside, temperate rainforests
This project involved the remodelling of an existing detached family house on the Dulwich Estate. As part of the works a new basement was constructed.
The Torquay Beach House has large floor to ceiling glass doors opening out onto cantilevered concrete decks which take in the views. A brand-new home for a retiring couple which makes to most of the 180-degree uninterrupted views across nearby wetlands and sand dunes.
The Sooke house, made for a woman and her dog sits on a rocky knoll where the forest meets the sea. A small clearing nested among the trees upon the knoll provides slices of ocean and mountains through the trunks of the large pacific northwest rainforest.
Within a 1.5km radius, the Stark House is surrounded by other housing estates – both low and high rise, the Changi Prison Complex, Changi Airport, and several industrial and commercial areas.
Conceptually, the project is an insertion of two augmented lodges atop the existing house – one contains the parents’ bedroom & facilities, whilst the other is the children’s bedrooms.
