Alamo House, Toledo / OOIIO Arquitectura

Alamo House stands on a steep residential site with panoramic views of the historic center of Toledo. To navigate the plot’s complicated geometry and pronounced slope, OOIIO Architecture devised three stacked rectangular prisms. Each volume is clad in natural stone and strategically superimposed to form the house’s main structure.

The design seeks a comfortable minimalism that combines the modern with the classic following the guidelines of sustainability and a healthy design. White tones predominate the space to achieve greater luminosity. Less is more is our philosophy, that is why the space is configured with four architectural details rigorously conceived.

In 2013, Yolanda the designer from Errepila, moves into her grandparents’ house, situated in a small village in Madrid, away from the bustle of the city. Built in 1942, with 50 square meters a floor and a large courtyard, the house needed a comprehensive renovation in order to be inhabited.
