In a rare 40+ foot wide West Village maisonette footprint spanning two full floors, we gut-renovated and reimagined 7,000+ square feet of interior and exterior to take an incredible space and turn it into a warm urban sanctuary for their family to enjoy.
Formerly a lakeside summer camp, this property came with stringent zoning restrictions. Three existing buildings have been rebuilt, each one confined to the footprint of its original foundation.
Grand Street loft was designed to create a generous open space for living, cooking, dining, and music. The open loft is ringed by the discrete spaces requiring privacy or for utility: bedrooms and bathrooms, entry, storage and laundry.
The Mountain Lakes Residence also had an emotional aspect for Susan Knof, Founder and Creative Director of KNOF Design, as one half of the client couple is a long-time friend.
Cape Cod Guest House is an interior design project conceived by Evolve. The house is located on Cape Cod, a peninsula in eastern Massachusetts, USA. Evolve is a young and energetic residential design firm with headquarters in Boston.
The most beautiful part of working with a client for the third time is that they’re very likely to hand you the keys to their new home and say “We trust you… have fun”. The tricky part is having “fun” designing a giant five bedroom beach house that needs a major overhaul (and a lot of minor construction) on a ten-week timeline.
