The project is sensitive to its origins and context, the traditional vernacular of the Cottage and Steading echo the footprint, materiality and massing of the original buildings which were on the site, whilst the contemporary timber clad Link is agricultural in form and deliberately subservient to the adjacent buildings.
Calera del Rey House was completed recently by Gualano + Gualano Arquitectos. The house has an area of 144 sqm and is located in Maldonado, Uruguay. Compact Karst house was completed in 2014 by the Ljubljana-based Dekleva Gregorič Arhitekti. The redefinition of a traditional stony Karst house led to the concept of the proto-house as a compact, stony, pitched roof volume for contemporary countryside living in this region.
