Even if the general public preferences are currently headed to the furniture that is simple to maintain, for parts that display a few decorations and help to optimize the living space, old furniture items should not be neglected and should not be allowed to fall into a shadow cone. The old furniture bears stories and history and it has a spiritual load and represents a part of our past and through the mastery of some artisans it can be turned into practical pieces that in the same time have the status of true works of art.

The truly unique furniture is the ancient one, those tables with original forms, adorned legs and painted surfaces by hand, those imposing cabinets made of solid wood or the bedside tables with decorative elements of the most beautiful and sophisticated that remind us of the Baroque or Gothic style. Such pieces of furniture bring to light the French artisans of Ateliers d’Art Walser, that use old work techniques, rare knowledge and methods, of a know-how that has its roots in the past centuries.

Whether antique furniture is restored or on request, copies of old luxury furnishings are produced, such works require highly skilled and various craftsmen. To restore or make copies of pieces of the 15th century or a Bugatti, Prouve, Ruhlmann, Galle and Majorelle, Ateliers d’ Art Walser collaborates with known artisans for their expertise that work in a reversible conservation manner in order to preserve the authenticity of the piece.

The workshop has the largest stock of precious wood and veneer in the eastern France and still uses (with environmental permit), animal based glues and turtle scales. This type of furniture really has the ability to transform a room into a very special one, fashionable and refined in the same time.

The original design of the antique furniture is one of the main aspects for which it is so appreciated; this furniture is at great demand by collectors but also by classic style lovers.
